April Extra- Getting the Story Straight
We will call this our first editorial.
Note:
The Panama City Beach Motorcycle Rally is a Citywide event. It is not owned or under the control of just one promoter.
Get the Story Straight -
We shared this post below with our friends and fans on Facebook and it only seems appropriate to share it here too. There are some clarifications that need to be made related to the inaccuracies in this post made by Thunder Beach Productions on their face book page. If you would like to comment please join us over on facebook to let us know your thoughts.
Our post from PCB Rally's Facebook page:
Going to share this post from Thunder Beach Productions with all of you, Would love to see some feedback!
We will stick to the high road here and basically leave all the negative PR in their hands...
Our only comment here is going to be come on down, Have a great time here for the rally, and remember that the entire community is looking forward to your arrival here!!!!!!!!!! (whether they deem it Official or Not). We are pleased that we have more than enough support in the community to be able to provide you the rally attendee a first class website that is about the event and the many choices you have after arriving for the event.
Getting it straight...
The first inaccuracy to be addressed would be that Full Throttle Magazine does not run PCBRALLY.com, nor do they have any financial interest or control over this website or what it contains. PCB Rally.com and Full Throttle Magazine are separate as well as independently operated businesses. What we do have with Full Throttle Magazine is a business relationship that has a positive common goal, To promote the Panama City Beach Motorcycle Rallies and what happens here during these Rallies! I would say that we are accomplishing the goal by providing information in a more positive and comprehensive way.
The second inaccuracy in this post refers to "Stealing" the Event... That is a strong as well as unfounded accusation to make in a public forum.
This seems to be a misguided as well as an uninformed accusation directly aimed Full Throttle Magazine under Thunder Beach Productions assumption that they are also PCB Rally.com The reality would be that both myself here at PCB RALLY.com and the owners of Full Throttle Magazine simply are providing marketing, promotional alternatives, and event support to those that desire something different and the added visibility they feel will work best for their own businesses, they are without a doubt free to choose where they want this visibility.
Nowhere on PCB RALLY.com do we make the claim that we as a promoter are the Rally, You also will not see this claim made in Full Throttle Magazine.
This Rally belongs to the community as a whole, the people that are proactive in supporting the event, and to the businesses that have made it what it is.
Thunder Beach Productions does not have the capability or the authority to attempt to control what individual business choose to do as related to this Rally. They simply own a name for what they do as an event production company and they are only a part of what occurs for this area and citywide Motorcycle Event.
This sort of accusation also goes beyond either PCB Rally.com or Full Throttle Magazine by including others in the community that freely choose to be independent of this promoter and/or do not exclusively endorse Thunder Beach Productions "Official " agenda. Numerous local businesses have for quite a few years planned activites on their own and at their own expense. They have known they can do it successfully without a need to be affiliated with this promoter and are in growing numbers choosing a new direction.
Nothing has been stolen, Maybe a better use or choice of words would be loss of market share by this promoter. In general the community is doing what they have always done... providing you the hospitality, value, and a great rally experience to you the rally visitor! They get the credit for making this event so popular and successful over the years, not the aforementioned promoter.
On the public side, both PCB Rally.com and Full Throttle Magazine devote much time and effort to bring the riders here for the rally, we do what we can to let everyone know what is happening that extends past the well defined borders established by Thunder Beach Productions.
Here at Pcb Rally.com we accomplish that by keeping our message positive and providing information relative to the event itself, not us as promoters.
Where it comes to a "Name" We do not use their Trademark Production company name, There is no Theft, No Infringement on their mark!
Here is an answer I posted on facebook recently when asked the difference "What one chooses to call it is one thing, what happens here is another. To eliminate any confusion over this, there is a production company that possesses a name for what they do... then there is what everybody else does that makes the event what it has become over the years."
Therefore it was logical to choose a more generic title avoiding any reference to their trademarked production company brand or their activities.
PCB Rally.com continues to grow and expand the content available on this website solely due to the support and encouagement we recieve within this community. We created an alternative to what has been available, Our mission to promote the event on a community wide basis has been well recieved and accepted.
If you haven't seen our mission statement, this has been posted since day one of PCB RALLY.com's existence... we have not ,and wil not ever change this mission!
Our Mission Statement is a simple one and comes in two basic forms.
For the Riders, Motorcycle Enthusiasts, or Attendee's:
To provide an accurate, informative and easy to navigate web site that helps our site visitors plan their time here as well as stay informed about Rally related events and activities that occur for each rally in the Panama City Beach area.
For the Community, Businesses, and Motorcycle Industry:
To provide an open marketing platform to all area businesses, Industry Affiliates, Promoters, and Community Organizations that participate and/or support the Panama City Beach Motorcycle Rally events. Providing this open platform with no limitations on the types of business or products offered is designed to ensure continued positive growth of the events and the positive economic benefits these activities bring to the entire community.
Here at PCB Rally.com we do recognize that most of you out there could really care less about any of this as long as the community and it's businesses continue to provide the hospitality, activities, and value you look for at a Motorcycle Rally event, and that there continues to be a rally event to attend that porivdes a good experience. Be assured that will continue well into the future!
